Where's Your Heart Valentine's Day Event
An event to honor author, activist, feminist, Eve Ensler and her global strike to end violence against women, One Billion Rising, has been planned. The event also hopes to honor peace, love and local music in the aftermath of the Sandy Hook shootings and remembrance of the massacre that occurred at NIU on February 14, 2008. The event, which takes place on February 14 hopes to demonstrate the community's refusal to accept violence against any and all people. The evening will include music provided by a national band as well as local and regional bands. Artwork by NIU and local artists will also be on exhibit during the evening. This event gives attendees an opportunity to celebrate Valentines Day without the pressure of over-consumerism, materialism and attempts to address the question, this Valentines Day
