Canadian Pacfic Holiday Train is coming to Pingree Grove

« Return to Calendar

The Village of Pingree Grove is honored to be included once again as a stop on the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train Tour. This rolling fundraiser has been visiting communities across Canada and the US in November and December for the past thirteen years collecting donations to local food banks along the way.

Each Holiday Train is about 1,000 feet in length with fourteen brightly decorated rail cars, including a modified box car that has been turned into a traveling stage for performers. This year the concert will feature The Claytones and Tracey Brown. The only cost to you is a non-perishable food donation. The Northern Illinois Food Bank will benefit from all donations collected in Pingree Grove.

Two years ago at our second Holiday Train, Pingree Grove collected over 13,200 pounds of non perishables from local residents and had corporate check presentations for $145,000! Given the greater number of people in need of the Food Bank services this year, wouldn’t it be great if we could meet or exceed our last target?

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 5TH

BE HERE BEFORE 9:45 FOR THE TRAIN’S ARRIVAL AT 10:00 am

(REINKING ROAD CROSSING WILL BE CLOSED FROM 9:45 am UNTIL THE TRAIN LEAVES APPROXIMATELY 10:45 am)

The train stage will be open on the south side (Village Hall side) and you don’t want to be on the wrong side of the tracks when it arrives!

Any questions contact the Village at 847-464-5533.
