Jesus Christ Superstar

|
Jesus Christ Superstar, the first rock opera created as a concept album at the end of the turbulent ‘60s, has at its center a political and social rebel in the character of Judas. The play centers on the conflict between Judas and Jesus during the week before the crucifixion. Judas questions the radical teachings, popularity and motives of this new prophet and ultimately betrays him. Concentrating on the final days of Christ’s life, Jesus Christ Superstar dramatizes the story with intensity and explosive theatricality. Accompanied by a thrilling and driving rock score that is tender and memorable, Jesus Christ Superstar shows the transcendent power of the human spirit with a passion story that goes straight to the heart.
