Jessica Jacobsen thinks you should venture to Cortland Community Park for an evening of fun! Cortland Summer Fest will be from 4 p.m to midnight Aug. 7 at Cortland Community Park. Event features live bands, food vendors and beer garden. Also, a petting zoo from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Looking for some great hidden treasures? The Lincoln Highway Buy-Way will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 5 to 7 at DeKalb Area Women's Center parking lot. Friday and Saturday rain locations are inside the DWAC.

Wanting to hear some great music? Don't miss "Music on the Porch" from noon to 4 p.m. on Aug. 8 at the Joseph F. Glidden Homestead & Historical Center in DeKalb. Dates are the second and fourth Sunday of the month from June to October.
