Maple Syruping

Learn about the maple syrup process at Russell Woods Natural Resource Center. (Photo provided)

Learn about the entire maple syrup process, from tapping the trees to sampling the finished product.

Come to Russell Woods Natural Resource Center in Genoa for Maple Syruping from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 6.

The day starts with a syrup taste testing. Visitors get a pancake to dip into real syrup and corn syrup and get to decide which is better.

Typically people will go out on the hour to do demonstrations/conversation about the process of tapping trees for sap water. This particular tour ends at the evaporation pans to see the boiling sap water.
