It’s hard to believe our first frost is only about six weeks away. Nevertheless, now is the time to start preparing your garden for next year. Bill Mitchell will present the final Back on the Farm Gardening talk at the Sycamore History Museum at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Mitchell will explore how to prepare for the end of the growing season and how to clean up your garden. Topics will include the tools needed for clean-up, moving plants, planting bulbs for next year, mulching the garden, and how to compost successfully. Participants are encouraged to bring their questions.

This is the last in the series of talks sponsored by the Master Gardeners and the University of Illinois Extension Office. The program is free and open the public; donations are welcome. The talk will be held at the Sycamore History Museum, 1730 N. Main St. in Sycamore.
